Overview
Nestled in a private valley of the UNESCO-listed Tramuntana Mountains, Finca Ratxo Retreat Melia Collection is a boutique hideaway made for slow travel and deep breaths. Sepia-stone farm buildings, trickling waterways and ancient olive trees set the tone, while just 25 rustic-luxe rooms and suites, a cocooning spa, and thoughtful, garden-led cuisine dial up the indulgence. This is Majorca at its most authentic – cocooned in nature yet within easy reach of Palma and the coast.

Map & location
Puigpunyent, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
This intimate retreat lies in a private valley just outside Puigpunyent, one of west Majorca’s prettiest mountain villages. The drive winds through terraced hillsides, pine forest and vineyards before opening onto a hidden estate wrapped in nature.
By day, lace up your boots for Tramuntana hikes, visit local wineries such as Bodega Son Puig, or head to the coast for a dip in the Mediterranean. In the evenings, return to a world of soft lighting, stone archways and valley views – a complete contrast to the island’s livelier resorts and seafront promenades.
- Resort centre (Puigpunyent) 6.4km
- Cala Fornells Beach 17.7km
- Approx. transfer time from airport (PMI) 40 minutes by road
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The focal point outdoors is a serene freshwater infinity pool, edged by sunbeds and parasols and framed by Tramuntana ridgelines and terraced hillsides. It’s the sort of pool you slip into after a morning hike, or linger beside with a book and a glass of local wine.
Inside the spa you’ll find a heated indoor freshwater pool with whirlpool features – perfect for cooler days and shoulder-season stays. Pool towels are complimentary, and facilities can vary by pool and season.
Finca Ratxo is firmly a mountain retreat rather than a beach hotel; if you’re craving the sea, day trips to bays like Cala Fornells (around 17.7km away) work brilliantly with a hire car or private transfer.
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness is at the heart of life here. The spa features a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, whirlpool and treatment rooms for massages and rituals (charges apply; minimum age 14). The atmosphere is calm and cocooning, ideal after time spent on the trails.
A compact but well-equipped gym with free weights and cardio kit supports active stays, while yoga sessions connect you to the mountains that surround the finca.
Elsewhere, landscaped paths, quiet courtyards and lounge spaces invite you to simply sit, breathe and listen to the sounds of nature – this is a place to disconnect properly.
