Map & location
Malaga, Malaga City, Spain
Malaga is one of Spain’s most vibrant coastal cities, pairing palm-lined beaches with centuries of history. Hotel Catalonia Malaga is set along the promenade, just a short stroll from Playa-style city beaches and seaside chiringuitos serving grilled sardines.
From here you can dip into Malaga’s cultural scene — think the Alcazaba fortress, Roman theatre, cathedral and the Picasso Museum — then wander back along the waterfront at sunset. With buses close by and the nearest train station around 2km away, it’s easy to combine sightseeing in the old town with day trips along the Costa del Sol.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 20–30 minutes by road from Malaga Airport (AGP), depending on traffic.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
There’s no main outdoor pool at Hotel Catalonia Malaga, putting the focus firmly on the city and the sea. The real “pool” is the Mediterranean — the nearest beach is only about 100m away along the promenade, where you’ll find sunbeds for hire, calm waters in season and chiringuitos for long, lazy lunches.
If poolside lounging is essential for you, speak to us about pairing a stay here with a resort-style hotel elsewhere on the Costa del Sol, or using Malaga as a city-stop at the start or end of a longer beach holiday.
Spa, sports & wellness
Hotel Catalonia Malaga focuses on simple, modern comforts rather than a long list of leisure facilities. There’s no on-site spa or gym, but the concierge can usually advise on nearby wellness centres and fitness options in the city, and the seafront promenade outside is perfect for morning runs or sunset walks.
Around the hotel you’ll find plenty to keep you busy — from museums and galleries to shopping streets and lively squares for tapas and flamenco.
