Agios Fokas is where Kos slows right down. Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites is set on a quiet stretch of coast, with low-key surroundings and the Aegean practically on your doorstep. The local beach is shingle with clear, swimmable water and a backdrop of rugged hills, ideal if you prefer natural scenery over built-up promenades.
When you do want a change of pace, Psalidi’s seafront is a short drive away and the island’s capital, Kos Town, brings harbourfront tavernas, Venetian-era castles and ancient ruins, plus plenty of bars and shops for an evening wander.

Pool & outdoors
Water is the star of the show here. Dimitra Beach Hotel & Suites features four outdoor freshwater pools, including a dedicated children’s pool, plus multiple sunbathing terraces that cascade down towards the sea.
Expect:

Below the resort, steps lead straight down to a shingle beach with crystal-clear water – perfect for morning dips, a few lazy hours on a lounger or evening strolls along the shoreline.
Spa, sports & wellness
Stay-active types can make use of the air-conditioned gym, complete with cardio machines, a free weights area, stretching zone and fixed strength equipment (minimum age 16, typically open 07:00–20:00). Aerobics, aqua aerobics, darts and pilates sessions add variety to the daily programme.
Do note: the main gym, as well as football, basketball and tennis courts, are located at the nearby sister property Michelangelo Resort & Spa, roughly 300m away.
For relaxation, there is a spa area offering massages and a range of beauty treatments, open roughly 10:00–18:00 from May to October. Flavors Main Restaurant is the heart of the dining scene, serving buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner with show cooking stations. Thalasa & Alati offers a buffet with a Greek twist for breakfast, lunch and dinner right by the pool, again with live cooking and plenty of fresh salads, grills and local desserts.
In the evening, upgrade your night with a table at Cucina, the à la carte restaurant focusing on Italian dishes in a relaxed, poolside setting (once per week included for some board plans, reservations required; some dishes may carry a supplement).
Four bars dot the resort: the lobby-based Veranda Main Bar, a lively Water Swim-Up Pool Bar, a chic adults-only White Lounge on the roof terrace for sunset cocktails, and the Thalasa Lounge by the pool (also adults only) for daytime drinks. A smart dress code applies in the evening and beachwear is requested to be covered in restaurants.

Local area: Agios Fokas is a traditionally low-key corner of Kos with pebbly and black-sand beaches, sea views towards Turkey and easy access to the island’s renowned thermal springs at nearby Therma Beach. Kos Town, around 8.9km away, layers Roman ruins, a 15th-century castle and a buzzy harbourfront packed with restaurants and cafés.
