Map & location
Kalamaki, Zante, Greece
Golden Sun Hotel sits in laid-back Kalamaki on Zante’s south coast, a resort known for its long sandy bay and relaxed tavernas rather than late-night partying. The hotel itself is tucked just behind the beach, so you can wander from pool to sea in minutes, while Kalamaki’s shops, bars and family attractions are an easy stroll away. The wider Bay of Laganas is famously home to Caretta Caretta loggerhead turtles, so keep a lookout when you’re on the sand or out on the water.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Life at Golden Sun naturally revolves around the pool. There are two outdoor freshwater pools: a main pool with whirlpool section and plenty of sunbeds, plus a separate children’s pool that’s ideal for splashy playtime. The surrounding sun terrace is dotted with parasols, loungers and a handful of comfy Bali beds, creating a chilled, sociable atmosphere.
When you’re ready for the sea, it’s just a short stroll (around 150m) to Kalamaki Beach, part of the wider Bay of Laganas. This long, gently shelving sandy bay is perfect for paddling and sandcastle-building, and is also an important nesting spot for protected loggerhead turtles in season – so expect a more relaxed, low-key water sports scene compared with other Greek islands.
Spa, sports & wellness
Golden Sun is more about relaxed days in the sun than high-octane activities, but you’ll still find a few fun extras on site:
• Pool table and table tennis for friendly competitions
• Occasional evening entertainment between May and October, including live music and low-key shows (programme varies)
• On-site mini-market for beach essentials, snacks and souvenirs
• 24-hour style reception with luggage storage
There’s no dedicated spa, but the easy access to Kalamaki means you’re never far from local wellness centres, water sports (seasonal, from local providers) and boat trips around the island.
