Silversea's "door-to-door" fares include private executive transfers from your home to the airport, business-class flights (selected fares), airport-to-ship transfers and the same in reverse home. The entire journey is handled — not just the cruise.

Silver Origin, Silver Moon, Silver Dawn, Silver Endeavour, Silver Nova and Silver Ray have all joined the fleet since 2020. Silver Ray is the most recent ocean ship — modern, spacious, all-suite, with a wider asymmetric design that maximises views.

Silversea ships have no kids' clubs, no waterparks, no family-themed entertainment. The atmosphere is adult, refined, conversation-led. For a family cruise look at Royal Caribbean, MSC, P&O or Princess.
You want a big-ship resort experience
Silversea ships carry around 100–700 guests — boutique by cruise standards. No casino is the focus, no go-kart tracks, no Broadway-scale theatre productions. If you want a buzz on the pool deck, NCL, MSC or Royal Caribbean is a different proposition.
You're looking for entry-level cruise pricing
Silversea fares start where most premium and ultra-luxury lines do — high. The headline price is genuinely all-inclusive (drinks, flights, gratuities, transfers), so the comparison is fairer than it looks, but the cash-flow commitment is real.
You hate any kind of dress code
Silversea keeps the classic luxury-cruise dress conventions — smart casual most evenings, formal attire on selected nights on longer voyages. If "wear what you like" is the priority, Virgin Voyages, Marella or Explora Journeys are more relaxed.

- Silversea welcomes children but with no dedicated programme. Atmosphere is adult and refined; ages 6+ recommended. Expedition voyages set their own minimum (typically 8+ to 18+ depending on itinerary).
- Drinking age
- 18+ on most itineraries; 21+ on US-departing or US-port voyages.
- Voyage length
- 7-night samplers to 100+ night World Cruise sectors. Expedition voyages typically 10-21 nights; the World Cruise runs 138 nights.
- Dress code
- Daytime: casual. Evenings: smart casual. Voyages of 9+ nights typically include 1-2 formal nights where black tie or cocktail attire is encouraged. The S.A.L.T. Kitchen and casual venues stay smart casual all evening.
- Gratuities
- INCLUDED. All onboard service charges are baked into the cruise fare. Tipping individual staff is not expected.
- Drinks
- Premium drinks INCLUDED — spirits, cocktails, wine, beer, champagne. Limited surcharge on rare-vintage wines and reserve spirits, but the everyday list is open.
- Wi-Fi
- Premium Wi-Fi included for every suite category. Some Nova-class ships have Starlink-powered streaming-tier Wi-Fi.
- Currency on board
