Why a Virgin Voyages voyage?
Six reasons we recommend this line to the right kind of traveller.
Kid-free, period
Every sailing is exclusively 18+. No pre-bed meltdowns, no stray cannonballs in the pool, no waterslides above the steakhouse. Pure adult time — perfect for couples, friends, and solo travellers.
Boutique-sized ships, big-ship choice
Not too small (you still get 20+ restaurants and full-spec entertainment), not too big (you'll never wait in a queue for a lift). Roughly 2,700 sailors per ship — small enough to feel cared for.
The best food at sea — included
No buffets. 20+ eateries with menus by Michelin-starred chefs — Korean BBQ, contemporary Italian, a steakhouse with sea views, Mexico City fare. Voted the best food at sea, and every restaurant is included in your fare.
Real value, no nickel-and-diming
WiFi, all dining, soda & water, group fitness classes, and entertainment are always included. That's £1,000+ of value baked in — no surprise charges added on at the end.
Awards, three years running
Travel + Leisure World's Best three years in a row. Cruise Critic Cruisers' Choice. Condé Nast Traveler Reader's Choice two years running. 200+ awards and counting since launch in 2021.
Bimini Beach Club — exclusive
Most Caribbean voyages call at Virgin's own private beach club in Bimini. Day beds, food and drink included, no entry fees, no hidden costs. The vibe of Ibiza without the Ibiza price tag.
Might not be for you if…
No cruise line is for everyone. Here's where Virgin Voyages might not fit. We'll point you elsewhere if so.
You're travelling with kids
Strict 18+ policy means no exceptions, even for teens. If you're planning a family holiday, look at Royal Caribbean, Disney, MSC, or P&O instead.
You like formal nights and dressing up
Virgin Voyages is deliberately casual — no jacket-and-tie nights, no captain's gala. If you love classic cruise formality, Cunard or Regent Seven Seas is a better fit.
You want all-inclusive drinks
Soda, tea, drip coffee and water are included — but premium cocktails and wine are paid extras. If you want truly all-inclusive bar, look at Regent, Silversea, or Explora Journeys.
You prefer ultra-large mega-ships
Lady ships carry around 2,700 sailors. If you want 6,000-passenger floating cities with rollercoasters and water parks, Royal Caribbean's Icon class is more your speed.

No buffets. Twenty-plus reasons.
Every dining venue on board is included — no upcharges, no hidden costs. Menus are designed by Michelin-starred chefs and served made-to-order, not from a tray.
What you actually do all day
Entertainment that doesn't feel like a cruise
No nightly Broadway-style musicals. Instead: original adult-tilting shows in The Red Room, live music every night, late-night DJs at The Manor nightclub, secret pop-up parties, bookable karaoke rooms.
Wellness, not just a gym
Free group classes (HIIT, yoga, spin, barre, meditation), an outdoor running track with ocean views, and Redemption Spa with its impressive Thermal Suite (day passes available).
Beach Club at Bimini
Virgin's own private island beach club in the Bahamas. Caribbean voyages call here for full days. Food and most drinks included. No entry fees, day beds available.
Scarlet Night
Once-per-voyage signature party. Wear red, follow the cast across the ship, end up at a poolside finale. The night people talk about for months.
