Illetas is one of Majorca’s chicest coastal corners, a small, upscale enclave just along the bay from Palma. Barcelo Illetas Albatros enjoys a privileged seafront position, surrounded by rocky coves and small sandy beaches with crystalline water.
You’re a short stroll from Illetas’ handful of restaurants and bars, and just 7km from Palma – close enough for evenings in the old town, galleries and rooftop cocktails, but far enough away to keep things peaceful back at the hotel. Golfers are well placed too, with Real Golf de Bendinat and other courses a quick taxi ride away.

Pool & outdoors
The main outdoor pool area is the hotel’s social heart: an adults-only freshwater pool framed by sunbeds, Balinese beds and parasols, all gazing out towards the Bay of Palma. A built-in whirlpool section and a designated swimming lane mean you can alternate between lazy lounging and proper laps. Fresh pool towels are provided.
When you fancy a change of scene, head indoors to the heated spa pool – also adults-only – with whirlpool jets for a more cocooned feel. Outside the hotel, Illetas’ sandy beaches and rocky coves offer crystal-clear water for a swim; the nearest broad sandy bay is around 1km away, while a sheltered cove is directly below the hotel.
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness is a highlight at Barcelo Illetas Albatros. The spa features a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and whirlpool, along with a menu of massages and beauty treatments (local charges apply). It’s open roughly from mid-morning to early evening, giving you time to wind down before dinner.
Active guests can make use of the air-conditioned gym, complete with cardio kit, an aerobics studio, free weights and a stretching zone (minimum age 17). There’s also occasional evening entertainment on selected nights, typically live music between early June and early October, keeping the vibe low-key and grown up rather than full-on.

Food & drink
Food here leans Mediterranean with a contemporary twist. Start and end the day at Restaurante Mediterraneo, the main buffet restaurant with show-cooking stations for fresh eggs in the morning and grilled favourites at dinner. Expect an international spread alongside Spanish and local Majorcan dishes.
By day, the poolside Blue Restaurant offers à la carte snacks and lunches – think salads, pastas and light bites with sea views. Later on, ease into the evening at Bar Illetas, the lobby bar with a wide terrace for pre-dinner drinks, or wander to the pool bar for relaxed cocktails and daytime refreshments in the sun.
