Map & location
Valldemossa, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
Set in the wowing Tramuntana mountain range, Hotel Bordoy Continental Valldemossa feels deliciously remote yet reassuringly close to civilisation. The hotel sits on a winding hillside road above the coast, with sweeping views of pine-clad slopes and the Mediterranean beyond.
The postcard-pretty village of Valldemossa, with its sand-coloured stone houses, cobbled streets and famous La Cartuja monastery, is just over 4km away. You’ll find cafés for ensaïmada and coffee, rustic eateries for local tapas, and plenty of photogenic corners to wander.
Down by the coast, a small pebbly beach around 1km away offers a cool-off in crystal-clear water, while keen hikers and cyclists can set off directly into the Tramuntana’s network of trails and routes.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 50 minutes (private transfer; property not accessible by standard coach).
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Days tend to revolve around the outdoor freshwater pool, framed by terracotta tiles, loungers and parasols. From your sunbed you’re treated to far-reaching vistas over the valley and out to sea – a gorgeous backdrop for a lazy day with a book.
Pool towels are provided free of charge, so you can travel lighter, and inflatables are permitted for those who like to float as they soak in the scenery.
When you fancy a saltwater dip, head to the nearby pebbly cove around 1km away. It’s rugged, peaceful and very much in keeping with the Tramuntana’s wild character, so bring sturdy shoes as well as your swimwear.
Spa, sports & wellness
Although there’s no full spa, active travellers are well looked after. The compact gym is equipped with cardio machines and a free-weights area (minimum age 16 years), perfect for a quick session before breakfast or a cool-down after a hike or ride.
Cyclists are particularly well catered for, with on-site cycling facilities and the option of bike hire (local charges apply). From gentle valley rides to more challenging mountain ascents, you’re in one of Europe’s most iconic cycling regions.
Elsewhere, the atmosphere is intentionally peaceful. There’s no organised entertainment programme, leaving the soundtrack to the breeze through the pines and the clink of glasses on the terrace.
