La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel Mallorca is one of Majorca’s most storied hideaways – a cluster of ochre-stone manor houses, citrus groves and tiered olive terraces gazing over the artists’ village of Deia. Inside, rustic beams, antique furniture and contemporary art meet polished, intuitive service. Days drift by between saltwater pools with Tramuntana views, languid lunches by the grill and olive-oil scrubs in the garden spa, while evenings revolve around candlelit fine dining at El Olivo and mellow live music on the terrace. With character-filled rooms, suites with private plunge pools and thoughtful touches for both couples and families, this is a bohemian-luxury retreat with a strong sense of place.

Map & location
Deia, Majorca, Balearics, Spain
La Residencia sits on a hillside above Deia, one of Majorca’s most coveted enclaves. This small village is woven into the Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO-listed landscape of terraced olive groves, stone fincas and lookout trails. From the hotel it’s a short stroll into the village for gourmet restaurants, wine bars and little galleries – Deia has long drawn painters, writers and musicians, and that bohemian edge is still very much alive.
The nearest bathing spot is a rocky cove around 8km away, ideal if you fancy a dip in the Mediterranean between mountain walks. Palma and the island’s sandy south coast beaches are reachable in a leisurely day trip, but most guests are content to sink into the slow rhythm of Deia and the surrounding hills.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
La Residencia has a trio of serene pool options, each designed to frame those mountain-and-village views:
• Adults-only rooftop saltwater pool – A heated saltwater pool on the roof terrace, reserved for adults. Sunloungers and parasols dot the terrace, and the elevated position gives you some of the best vistas in Deia. Typically heated from mid-March to mid-November.
• Main outdoor saltwater pool with children’s section – A family-friendly heated pool with an integrated shallow area for little ones, surrounded by a sunbathing terrace with loungers and parasols. Baby-changing facilities are close at hand and inflatables are permitted, making this the social hub for families.
• Indoor saltwater pool with whirlpool – Located within the spa, this heated pool is ideal for a quiet swim or relaxing soak, whatever the weather.
Complimentary pool towels are provided. The closest rocky beach is around 8km away – perfect for a scenic dip in the Mediterranean – while sandy beaches further afield can be reached by hire car or private excursion.

Dining is a real highlight here, with four distinct restaurants that make the most of Deia’s produce and panoramas:
El Olivo
The hotel’s signature à la carte restaurant and one of the most atmospheric dining rooms on the island. Think candlelit dinners in a former olive press, stone arches, white tablecloths and creative Mallorcan cuisine on the terrace overlooking the valley. Smart dress is expected (gentlemen in long trousers; no beachwear).
Restaurante Mirò
An art-filled terrace restaurant that showcases Spanish and local dishes for snacks and lighter bites. Named after Joan Miró, you’ll be surrounded by curated artworks while enjoying a glass of local wine and tapas. Beachwear is not permitted.
Son Fony
The breakfast venue mixes buffet and à la carte service, with Spanish and Mallorcan specialities, fresh fruit and baked goods served poolside. A kids’ menu and highchairs are available, and beachwear is kindly requested to be left for the pool.
Tramuntana Grill
A relaxed à la carte grill beside the pool serving local dishes for lunch and dinner, typically open from mid-May to mid-October. Expect grilled fish, meats and salads in a casual but refined setting. Dress code is relaxed but no beachwear.
