Overview

Apikia Santorini Suites is an intimate hillside hideaway on the edge of Pyrgos, where contemporary architecture and Cycladic curves frame endless caldera and countryside views. With only 12 suites – each with its own private pool or heated whirlpool and a telescope for stargazing – this boutique retreat feels more like a designer villa collection than a hotel. Wake to soft island light over the vineyards, spend the day exploring Santorini’s beaches and wine roads, then drift back to your own private terrace for sunset over the Aegean.

Perched just below Pyrgos’ hilltop castle, Apikia Santorini Suites looks out across the caldera, vineyards and villages of central Santorini. Smooth whitewashed walls, stone detailing and sculpted pools blend indoor and outdoor living, while low-key service and generous space give this boutique address a quietly luxurious feel. It’s new for Summer 2025, so everything from linens to loungers feels fresh-from-the-box. For couples and style-conscious friends seeking Santorini’s authentic heartland rather than the busy cliff-edge crowds, Apikia Santorini Suites delivers calm, space and views in equal measure. Hidden on the slopes below Pyrgos, it’s around 35 minutes from Santorini (JTR) airport and perfectly placed between Fira and Kamari’s beach clubs. See more Greece holidays.

Map & location

Pyrgos, Santorini, Greece

Snuggled on the slopes below Pyrgos, Apikia Santorini Suites places you in one of the island’s most characterful villages. Pyrgos was once the capital of Santorini and still feels wonderfully authentic, with whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches and steep medieval alleys spiralling up to Pyrgos Kasteli castle.

From the hotel, it’s an easy stroll (about 350m) to the main square, where pine trees shade café tables and wine bars mix local vintages with sunset views. Central positioning means you can head west towards Fira’s caldera-side buzz or east to Kamari’s black-sand beach and waterfront tavernas in under 15 minutes by taxi or hire car.

  • Pyrgos resort centre 350m
  • Fira (Thira) resort centre 4.7km
  • Kamari Beach 5.2km
  • Santorini (JTR) Airport 5km
  • Approx. transfer time from airport 35 minutes

Facilities

Pool & outdoors

There’s no communal pool here – every suite has its own water feature built into a terrace or patio for maximum privacy. Depending on what you book you’ll enjoy:

– Private swimming pools for cooling dips whenever you like
– Outdoor heated whirlpools perfect for sunset soaks
– Generous terraces with sunbeds and loungers, many angled towards the caldera or Aegean

For a day by the sea, head to Kamari Beach, roughly 5km away on the east coast. Expect dark volcanic sand and shingle, loungers and parasols for hire, water sports in season and a long promenade lined with tavernas and beach bars. Perissa and Perivolos beaches are also within easy reach by taxi or rental car.

Spa, sports & wellness

Apikia Santorini Suites is all about slow living rather than high-energy facilities. There’s no formal spa or gym, but the design and setting lend themselves to a restorative, wellness-style stay.

– Terraces ideal for sunrise yoga or stretching (bring your own mat)
– Telescopes in the suites so you can explore the night sky and caldera in more detail

Santorini’s natural “gym” is at your door: wander up through Pyrgos’ medieval alleys to the Venetian Kasteli for 360° views, follow vineyard trails, or arrange wine-tasting, sailing, hiking or e-bike excursions via the concierge.

Do all suites at Apikia Santorini Suites have a private pool?
Yes – every suite at the property includes either a private swimming pool or a private heated outdoor whirlpool on your balcony or terrace. Some categories, such as the Supreme and Elegant Two Bedroom Suites, feature larger pools and more expansive sun terraces.
How far is Apikia Santorini Suites from Fira and the beach?
The hotel sits in central Santorini, about 4.7km from the capital Fira and around 5.2km from Kamari Beach on the east coast. Both are a short taxi or self-drive away, making it easy to combine lazy mornings in your private pool with afternoons browsing boutiques, wine bars or lounging by the sea.
What board basis can I book at Apikia Santorini Suites?
Stays at Apikia Santorini Suites are on a Bed and Breakfast basis. A daily breakfast is included, leaving you free to sample Pyrgos’ excellent tavernas and wine bars or dine in Fira, Imerovigli and along the beaches in the evenings.
Is there Wi‑Fi at Apikia Santorini Suites?
Yes, complimentary Wi‑Fi is available throughout the property, including inside the suites. It’s ideal for sharing those poolside caldera shots or staying connected if you need to work remotely.
Does Apikia Santorini Suites have a spa or gym?
There’s no dedicated spa or gym on-site – this is a small, design-forward boutique property focused on privacy and relaxation. However, many guests use their suite’s private terrace for yoga or stretching, and the team can assist with arranging spa treatments or wellness experiences nearby.
How do I get from Santorini Airport to Apikia Santorini Suites?
Santorini (JTR) Airport is roughly 35 minutes away by shared coach transfer, depending on stops and traffic. Private taxis and pre-booked private transfers are also available and can reduce journey time; speak to your Travelisto advisor when booking.
Is Apikia Santorini Suites suitable for people with reduced mobility?
Apikia is built on a hillside with steps, slopes and uneven surfaces typical of traditional Santorini villages. There are no lifts and access to many suites involves stairways, so it may not be suitable for guests with significant mobility difficulties. If this is a concern, ask your Travelisto specialist to discuss options in more detail.
