Amoudara, Crete (Heraklion Area), Greece
Set on Crete’s popular north coast, Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa sits just behind a long stretch of Amoudara’s sand-and-shingle beach. This part of the island is ideal if you like to mix easygoing beach time with city sights – Heraklion, the island capital, is less than a 15-minute drive away.
Within walking distance you’ll find local tavernas, shops and cafés, while Bravo Waterpark is only a short taxi ride for a family day out. Thanks to a handy bus stop nearby, exploring wider Crete – from archaeological sites to pretty villages – is simple without needing a hire car.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The main outdoor freshwater pool is the social heart of the resort, complete with children’s section and colourful slides that younger guests will make a beeline for. A spacious sunbathing terrace wraps around the water with plenty of sunbeds and parasols, and complimentary pool towels mean you can pack lighter.
You’re only around 170 metres from the beach – a long strip of sand and shingle typical of the north coast. Spend the day dipping between sea and pool, or break things up with a stroll along the shoreline to low-key beachfront cafés. Facilities and lifeguard services can vary by season and local conditions.
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness fans have a spa area to retreat to, complete with sauna and steam room plus a menu of massage and beauty treatments (all usually at extra charge, minimum age 18 years). There’s also a gym with cardio equipment and free weights, again typically open during daytime hours in the main season.
If you prefer to keep active outdoors, there’s a strong line-up of activities: aerobics and aqua aerobics, mini-golf, table tennis, tennis, volleyball and yoga sessions.
Around the resort you’ll also find practical touches such as an on-site mini-market, plus a reception team who can help with currency exchange, concierge-style assistance and luggage storage. Selected baby equipment (like bottle warmers and pushchairs) and wheelchairs can often be hired via reception, subject to availability and local charges.

Food & drink
With five restaurants and a generous All Inclusive set-up, dining is a real highlight at Apollonia Beach Resort & Spa.
The main Adonis buffet restaurant handles breakfast, lunch and dinner with live show-cooking stations and a good mix of Greek and international dishes. Down by the sea, Ambrosia Greek Tavern serves classic Cretan flavours, while Al Capone specialises in Italian favourites for dinner. Vegans and the plant-curious are unusually well catered for at Avocado, a dedicated vegan à la carte on the terrace.
Between meals, the Avra snack bar and pizzeria by the pool keeps everyone going with light bites and pizza slices. Drinks are spread across a lobby bar, pool bar, beach coffee bar and a garden bar, plus an indoor disco bar for late-night cocktails when entertainment is running. Smart casual dress codes (no beachwear) apply in many outlets, and some venues are seasonal or subject to occupancy.
All Inclusive guests typically receive one included dinner per stay in each à la carte restaurant on stays of at least seven nights, with reservation required and subject to availability. Exact operation, supplements and opening times can vary by season. What All Inclusive typically includes.
