Map & location
Koutouloufari, Crete (Heraklion Area), Greece
Koutouloufari is one of Crete’s prettiest hillside villages, known for its narrow lanes, stone houses and relaxed tavernas. Asterias Village Resort sits between Koutouloufari and neighbouring Piskopiano, giving you two charming centres within strolling distance.
Down the hill, the cosmopolitan resort of Hersonissos offers a busier scene, with seafront bars, shops and a choice of beaches. From the hotel you can gaze across to the sea, then hop on the complimentary shuttle to be by the water in minutes. This makes it an excellent choice if you like peaceful evenings in a traditional setting, but don’t want to miss out on a livelier coastline when the mood strikes.

Pool & outdoors
The resort’s two outdoor freshwater pools are framed by sun terraces and greenery, giving a relaxed, sociable feel without feeling crowded.

Pool towels are usually available against a deposit or small local charge, and facilities may vary slightly by pool and by season.
The nearest beach is around 1.5km away, easily reached by the hotel’s complimentary shuttle bus down to Hersonissos or on foot/taxi if you prefer to explore independently. Along the coast you’ll find a choice of sandy and pebbly coves, with loungers, water sports and cafés.

Perched on the slopes of Mount Pyrgias, it combines sea views with stone-built alleyways, traditional houses and family-run tavernas serving Cretan favourites like souvlaki, fresh bread and feta drizzled in local olive oil.
