Map & location
Kissamos, Crete (Chania Area), Greece
You’ll find Ikos Kissamos on Crete’s tranquil northwest coast, set directly on a long sandy beachfront in Kissamos Bay. This is a quieter, more authentic side of the island, with traditional tavernas, local wineries and olive groves, yet you’re still only around 40 minutes’ drive from the Venetian harbour and boutique-lined lanes of Chania.
The sun-soaked seaside town of Kissamos itself sits 2.7km away, giving you somewhere local to wander for harbourfront dinners and everyday Greek life. From here, it’s easy to day-trip to some of Crete’s most iconic beaches – Balos Lagoon and Falassarna – or to explore rugged gorges and mountain villages inland.
- Beachfront direct access from the hotel
- Kissamos resort centre 2.7km
- Chania town & Venetian harbour 40 minutes’ drive
- Approx. transfer time from airport 1 hour (from Chania Airport, CHQ)
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Water babies are spoiled here. There are seven outdoor pools, including three dedicated children’s pools, all set in landscaped gardens with sunbathing areas, loungers and parasols. Several of the freshwater pools are heated in the shoulder seasons (typically 30 April–31 October; note that pools are not heated in July and August), so you can swim comfortably beyond the peak summer months.
You’ll also find a splash park with water guns, sprinklers and tipping buckets for younger guests, plus a tranquil indoor freshwater pool in the spa reserved for adults.
Down on the beach, soft sands and clear shallows make it ideal for families. Sunbeds and umbrellas are laid out along the shoreline and selected non-motorised watersports such as canoeing and pedalos are available (some activities and motorised options may carry an extra charge, even when operated by the hotel). Complimentary pool and beach towels are provided, and inflatables are generally permitted in the designated family pools.
Spa, sports & wellness
Stay as active – or as blissfully relaxed – as you like. The air-conditioned gym is well equipped with cardio machines, free weights and a stretching area, while a packed programme of activities includes aerobics, aqua aerobics, basketball, football, paddle, pilates, table tennis, tennis (some courts may be at extra charge), volleyball and yoga.
At the spa, expect a calming adults-only space with sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and a menu of massages and beauty rituals (16+, supplements apply). There’s also an on-site hairdresser for blow-dries before dinner.
Evenings bring a relaxed but polished entertainment line-up, with live music, DJs, professional shows and mini-disco for younger guests running across the season (programme varies; typically more frequent between late April–early September).

Ikos Kissamos takes dining seriously, with six à la carte restaurants and a generous main venue all wrapped into the All Inclusive Plus concept.
Expect buffet-style breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant, plus unlimited use of the à la carte venues (subject to availability, advance reservations recommended). Cuisines range from Thai at Anaya, refined French classics, Italian favourites at Fresco, and Cretan dishes at Kriti to relaxed all-day menus at the Beach Club and Azul by the sea. Highchairs and children’s menus keep little travellers happy, while adults can linger over wine pairings and creative cocktails.
Four bars – including a beach bar, pool bar, Deluxe Bar and elegant Lobby Bar – offer everything from iced coffees and sundowners to late-night signature mixes. A smart casual dress code may apply in the evenings, and facilities or opening times may vary by season. Reservations may be required and some premium items could carry a supplement, depending on your board arrangement.
