Koutrakis Suites sits on the edge of Sissi, a pretty, slow-paced fishing village on Crete’s north coast. Instead of neon bars and big beach clubs you’ll find fishing boats bobbing in the harbour, sea-view tavernas and landscaped footpaths that trace the coastline.
From the hotel you can follow the seafront to a small beach about 200m away, or continue 400m to reach Sissi’s compact centre with its waterfront cafés, low-key bars and minimarkets. It’s a great base for exploring nearby Malia’s livelier beaches and the archaeological sites and mountain villages inland, then retreating to somewhere calm at the end of the day.
