Map & location
Samos Town, Samos, Greece
Samos City Hotel could not be more central. It fronts the seafront road in Samos Town, with the harbour and port a short walk away and the old streets rising up behind. This is the island’s capital, so expect buzzy cafés, family-run tavernas, small boutiques and a liveable Greek atmosphere rather than a pure beach resort feel.
History fans have easy access to museums and ancient sites, while walkers can head up into the green hills that frame the town. When you are in the mood for a swim, local-favourite Gagou Beach is just along the coast, with crystal-clear water and low-key tavernas.
- Shops, bars & restaurants on the doorstep
- Samos Port short walk
- Gagou Beach (shingle) 1km
- Approx. transfer time from airport 30 minutes
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The star of the show is the rooftop freshwater pool, edged by sunbeds and overlooking the harbour and red-roofed town. It is a lovely spot to cool off between sightseeing or spend a lazy afternoon with a book and a drink from the bar.
Pool towels are provided free of charge, which saves space in your luggage. The rooftop area is usually open from around 10 May until 15 October, weather and occupancy permitting.
For a dip in the sea, wander east from the harbour to Gagou Beach, about 1km away. This shingle cove is lapped by clear, calm water and backed by simple tavernas – perfect for a low-key swim and lunch by the shore.
Spa, sports & wellness
While there is no full spa on site, Samos City Hotel includes a small gym with cardio machines, free weights and fixed strength equipment – handy if you like to stay active between mezes.
Elsewhere, you will find a 24-hour reception team ready with local recommendations, plus practical extras like equipment hire (including kettles on request), Wi‑Fi and luggage storage. Being in the centre of town means anything not on-site – from boat trips to hiking trails – is easy to arrange via local providers or through Travelisto’s concierge support before you travel.
