Map & location
Koukounaries, Skiathos, Greece
Skiathos Palace Hotel occupies a privileged hillside position on the south-west coast of Skiathos, directly above golden Koukounaries Beach and the smaller cove of Maratha. The setting is wonderfully green – pine forests tumble down to the shoreline, and you’re surrounded by walking paths and viewpoints.
Koukounaries itself is low-key, with just enough beachfront tavernas and shops for an amble out in the evening. You’re close to boat trips, watersports and other sandy bays along the coast, while Skiathos Town is an easy taxi or bus ride away for harbourfront dining and a livelier night out.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
The heart of the hotel is its elevated outdoor freshwater pool, framed by a wide sunbathing terrace with loungers and parasols. Thanks to the hillside position, you get a sense of floating above the bay – it’s a lovely angle for sunrise dips and late-afternoon swims. Pool towels are provided free of charge.
Down below, Koukounaries Beach stretches along more than a kilometre of soft sand and shallow, clear water, backed by fragrant pines. It has Blue Flag status and a choice of watersports, snack bars and sunbed areas. Maratha Beach, a little quieter and more intimate, is also within easy reach and serviced by the hotel’s beach bar in season.
Facilities and lifeguard hours can change by season and weather; local charges may apply for sunbeds and watersports on the public beaches.
Spa, sports & wellness
While Skiathos Palace Hotel isn’t a full-on sports resort, you’ll find enough to keep things relaxed and restorative. Beauty treatments are available for guests aged 16 and over, perfect for a post-beach massage or pampering facial (extra charges apply).
Children have their own playground area with swings and slides (age/height restrictions may apply), and families are well catered for in the restaurants with highchairs available. Around the hotel, there are walking paths and viewpoints if you enjoy gentle hikes with a rewardingly scenic payoff.
Practical touches include a 24-hour reception, concierge services, currency exchange, luggage storage and the option to hire mobility equipment such as motorised scooters (plus on-site charging, all at extra cost). As the property is set on a slope with no lifts, we recommend discussing mobility needs with us before booking.

Food & drink
Start the day with a buffet breakfast in the Main Restaurant, where international favourites sit alongside Greek classics and Italian touches. In the evening, Half Board guests return here for buffet dinners with salads, hot dishes and desserts – ideal if you like plenty of choice without overthinking it.
For something special, head up to the White View Grill Restaurant on the roof terrace (seasonal). As the name suggests, it’s all about the outlook: panoramic sea views paired with à la carte Greek, local and international grills. This is the spot for sunset suppers and a glass of chilled Assyrtiko.
Three bars keep you refreshed all day. The indoor lounge bar works well for pre- or post-dinner drinks in a relaxed setting, the pool bar handles daytime coffees and cocktails by the water, and the Maratha Beach Bar (seasonal) is your toes-in-the-sand option right by the sea.
Smart-casual dress is appreciated in the restaurants and bars (beachwear not permitted inside). Reservations and supplements may apply for the à la carte, and inclusions vary by board – check in-resort for the latest details. What All Inclusive typically includes.
