Map & location
Conil de la Frontera, Costa De La Luz East, Spain
Barcelo Conil Playa occupies a prime cliffside perch above the pretty cove of Fuente del Gallo, just outside the whitewashed town of Conil de la Frontera on Spain’s Costa de la Luz. This stretch of Atlantic coastline feels deliciously untamed – long blonde beaches, rolling waves and big skies – yet you’re close enough to dip into Conil’s tapas bars, boutiques and historic old town whenever the mood takes you.
It’s an excellent base for day trips too: drive up the coast to the ancient port city of Cádiz, explore the region’s famous white villages, or join surf schools and watersports outfits dotted along the shoreline.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
With three sparkling freshwater pools and the Atlantic on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to a swim.
• Rooftop infinity pool – a standout feature, this elevated pool appears to flow straight into the ocean, with sunbeds, Balinese beds and parasols lined up for long, lazy sessions in the sun. A local charge applies for access to the rooftop terrace area.
• Main outdoor pools – two further freshwater pools at different levels of the property, each with sunbathing areas, loungers, hammocks and parasols.
Pool towels are available with a refundable deposit, so you can travel lighter.
Down below, the beach is around 600m away. The Fuente del Gallo area is known for its striking red cliffs, natural feel and Atlantic rollers – perfect for refreshing dips, long walks at low tide and sunset strolls.
Spa, sports & wellness
Active types are well catered for with an air-conditioned gym equipped with cardio machines, fixed strength equipment, a free weights area and stretching zone (typically open 07:00–23:00, subject to change).
While there’s no full spa on site, the relaxed vibe, cliffside location and generous pool terraces create a naturally restorative feel, and you’ll find additional wellness and spa options in and around Conil.
Entertainment is deliberately gentle and low-key, with occasional daytime activities and evening entertainment such as live music running year-round. The programme leans predominantly Spanish, which adds to the sense of being in an authentically Andalusian setting rather than a generic resort.
Other useful touches include:
• Sustainable hotel certification and eco-conscious practices
• Gardens and landscaped outdoor spaces wrapped around the cliffs
• On-site concierge and luggage storage at reception
