Map & location
Venice City, Venice, Italy
Hotel Ca’ di Dio occupies a prime-yet-peaceful position on the Riva Ca’ di Dio waterfront, facing the Venice Lagoon at the gateway between the historic Castello district and St Mark’s. You’re a few steps from the nearest Vaporetto stop, so it’s effortless to hop across to the islands or cruise down the Grand Canal, but once you step through the doorway the city fades away into cloistered calm.
Iconic landmarks including St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge are all within an easy stroll, while the nearby Arsenale and Giardini make the hotel a superb base if you’re in town for the Venice Biennale.
- • From Venice Marco Polo (VCE) by shared waterbus or Vaporetto plus walking around 60–75 minutes
- • By private water taxi direct to the hotel area around 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic and tides
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
There is no swimming pool at Hotel Ca’ di Dio – this is very much a boutique city retreat focused on design, gastronomy and location rather than resort-style facilities.
Instead, water is ever-present just outside the door in the form of the Venice Lagoon. You can watch gondolas and vaporetti drift past from the lagoon-front terraces, or head out on the water yourself with private water taxi rides, island-hopping trips or sunset cruises easily arranged locally.
Spa, sports & wellness
The hotel’s bijou spa is a calming sanctuary after a day of exploring the calli and campi. Facilities typically include:
• Sauna and Turkish bath (18+; charges may apply)
• Menu of massages and wellness treatments using premium products (local charges)
• Relaxation areas ideal for a quiet pause between sightseeing sessions
For those who like to keep active, there’s a compact, air-conditioned gym furnished with cardio fitness equipment and a small aerobics/stretching space (minimum age 18 years).
Other on-site facilities and features include:
• 24-hour reception and concierge
• English-language newspapers available in reception
• Luggage storage (ideal for early arrivals or late departures)
• Elegant lounges and reading corners inside the historic palazzo
• Beautifully landscaped courtyards for coffee, drinks or a quiet read
Opening hours and services can vary with season and occupancy, and some facilities incur a local charge.

Food & drink
Start your day in Essentia Restaurant, a refined breakfast room opening onto the hotel’s internal courtyard. Expect beautifully presented buffet-style breakfasts featuring local products, freshly baked pastries and Italian coffee, with service that lingers rather than rushes you out sightseeing.
By night, Vero Restaurant becomes the hotel’s gastronomic heart, offering à la carte Venetian and Italian cuisine with a strong focus on seasonal ingredients and lagoon views. It’s an intimate, design-driven space where dishes might include reimagined lagoon classics, elegant pasta plates and creative fish specials.
Round things off in the Alchemia Bar, an atmospheric cocktail bar (typically open 11:00–01:00) where mixologists shake up signature drinks and Italian spritzes, served either indoors among sculptural lighting and Murano accents or outside when weather permits.
A smart casual dress code may apply for dinner, and opening times or inclusions can vary seasonally and by board basis. Reservations are recommended for Vero, especially at peak times.
