Overview

Perched on a headland overlooking the crystalline waters of the Costa Smeralda, Hotel La Bisaccia is pure Sardinian escapism. Manicured lawns roll down to rocky bathing coves and a reserved slice of Baia Sardinia’s white-sand beach, while a saltwater pool, classic Mediterranean architecture and far-reaching sea views set a wonderfully romantic tone. This is the place to switch off, savour slow al-fresco dinners and fall asleep to the sound of the sea.

Wake to widescreen sea views, wander through fragrant gardens to hidden rocky coves, then end the day with an Aperol on the terrace as the sky blushes pink over the bay. Hotel La Bisaccia is old-school Sardinian charm done right – low-rise Mediterranean façades, shady pines, and the Costa Smeralda’s famous turquoise waters just footsteps away. For couples seeking Sardinia’s laid-back Costa Smeralda charm, Hotel La Bisaccia delivers the perfect balance. It’s 1 hour 30 minutes from the airport. See more Italy holidays.

Map & location

Baia Sardinia, Sardinia, Italy

Hotel La Bisaccia enjoys one of Baia Sardinia’s most privileged spots, on a peaceful headland just north of the famous Costa Smeralda. You’re surrounded by emerald sea and sculpted granite rocks, yet only a short stroll from the resort’s waterfront promenade, restaurants and gelaterie.

A reserved section of the main Baia Sardinia beach gives you soft white sand and shallow turquoise water on tap, while bathing platforms carved into the rocks offer that classic Costa Smeralda “beach club” feel without the crowds.

Facilities

Pool & outdoors

The heart of the hotel is its outdoor saltwater pool, edged by lawns, sunbeds and parasols. It sits high enough to enjoy sweeping sea views, yet close enough to the shoreline that you can hear the waves. Pool towels are complimentary, so you can travel lighter.

From the gardens, paths lead directly down to rocky bathing platforms where you can slip straight into the sea, as well as to Baia Sardinia’s main sand beach. Between 01 June and 30 September, guests enjoy a reserved beach section with one parasol and two sunbeds per room from the third row backwards; the first two rows are available for a daily supplement.

Spa, sports & wellness

While there’s no full spa on site, Hotel La Bisaccia focuses on laid-back outdoor living. Borrow one of the hotel’s complimentary bicycles (subject to availability and on request) to explore Baia Sardinia and nearby coves, or simply enjoy the gentle entertainment programme with live music on selected evenings from May to October (more frequent in July and August).

The reception team can help with concierge services, local recommendations and practicalities, and there’s also luggage storage plus useful hire items such as kettles, bottle warmers and wheelchairs.

Food & drink

Start the day with breakfast on the panoramic terrace at La Terrazza Restaurant, where the view is every bit as tempting as the buffet. Expect Italian and international favourites at breakfast and dinner, with lunch also available and an emphasis on local Sardinian flavours and fresh seafood. Beachwear is politely discouraged in the restaurant.

Two stylish bars keep the dolce vita flowing. The American Bar serves as a relaxed lounge bar for pre-dinner drinks, while the Pool Bar doubles as a piano bar in the gardens on selected nights, pairing live music with sunset cocktails.

A smart dress code may apply in the evenings. Reservations and supplements can vary by season and board, and some items or venues may carry an extra charge. Information is based on previous seasons and is subject to change. What All Inclusive typically includes.

FAQs

Is Hotel La Bisaccia on the beach?
Yes. Hotel La Bisaccia has direct access to the sea via rocky bathing platforms and also to Baia Sardinia’s main sand beach. From 01 June to 30 September, guests have use of a reserved beach section with one parasol and two sunbeds per room from the third row backwards. The first and second rows are available at an extra daily charge.
What board basis can I book at Hotel La Bisaccia?
You can book Bed and Breakfast or Half Board. Half Board generally includes breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant, with drinks usually extra. Menus and inclusions can change seasonally, so we recommend checking your specific arrangements at the time of booking or on arrival.
How far is Hotel La Bisaccia from Olbia Airport?
The transfer from Olbia (OLB) to Baia Sardinia takes around 1 hour 30 minutes by shared coach transfer, depending on traffic and any en‑route stops. Private transfers are typically quicker.
Is Hotel La Bisaccia suitable for guests with reduced mobility?
The main building has three floors and one lift, but the annexe block has no lifts, so annexe rooms and suites may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. The grounds are tiered and sloping in places, with steps down towards the sea, so we recommend discussing specific needs before booking.
Are there family-friendly facilities at Hotel La Bisaccia?
Children are welcome and the child age is up to 11 years, though there is no dedicated kids’ club. Families typically make use of the pool, gardens and beach, along with larger room types such as Superior Rooms with Sea View, Junior Suites and Garden Suites in the annexe. Baby cots are available for a local charge, and bottle warmers and kettles can be requested from reception (subject to availability).
What is the dress code for dinner?
A smart-casual dress code is usually requested in La Terrazza Restaurant and the bars, and the hotel asks that beachwear is not worn in the restaurant. Men may be asked to wear long trousers or tailored shorts in the evening; policies can vary slightly by season.
Does Hotel La Bisaccia have evening entertainment?
Yes, there is evening entertainment focused mainly on live music. Entertainment is occasional between 01 May and 15 October, with daily evening music between 01 July and 31 August. The exact programme and schedule can change from season to season.
Is Wi‑Fi available at Hotel La Bisaccia?
Free Wi‑Fi is available throughout the hotel, including guest rooms and most public areas, allowing you to stay connected while you relax by the pool or on the terrace.
