Map & location
Brela, Split and Dalmatian Coast, Croatia
Brela is one of the prettiest stretches of the Makarska Riviera, where pine forests tumble down to pearl-white pebbles and impossibly clear water. Bluesun Hotel Berulia is tucked into the slopes just above Berulia beach, with a seafront promenade linking you to cafés, ice cream stalls and viewpoints along the coast.
Head north along the path to reach Brela’s relaxed resort centre, or wander south towards Baska Voda for a livelier scene. Makarska and its ferry port are an easy day trip away, opening up island-hopping to Brac or Hvar. With a nature reserve in the hills behind and Kamen Brela’s photogenic rock emerging from the sea nearby, this is a spot where you’ll want your camera handy.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
With two outdoor freshwater pools, you’re never far from a refreshing dip. One of the pools has a sleek, infinity-style design that visually blends into the Adriatic beyond, making it a favourite for sunset swims and photos. Both pools are framed by terraces with sunbeds and parasols, and pool towels are usually available with a refundable deposit.
One of the pools is typically heated between mid-April and mid-October, depending on weather and hotel occupancy – handy for early- or late-season stays.
Just a few steps below the terraces, a path threads through the pines to Berulia’s pebble beach. Like most of the Dalmatian coast, the shore is pebbly rather than sandy, but the payoff is glass-clear turquoise water that’s ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Sunbeds and parasols are available for hire along the promenade, and you’ll find beach bars and cafés within easy strolling distance. Water shoes are a smart addition to your packing list.
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness takes centre stage at the spa, where you’ll find a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath, whirlpool and treatment rooms for massages and beauty rituals (generally 16+ and at extra cost; seasonal hours apply). It’s the ideal way to unwind after a day exploring the coast or hiking in the nearby nature reserve.
The air-conditioned gym is better equipped than many beach hotels, with cardio machines, a free weights area, fixed strength equipment and a stretching zone, typically open daily for guests 18+. Group activities such as aerobics, aqua aerobics, pilates and yoga are offered seasonally, some with a local supplement.
Cycling fans can take advantage of e-bike hire and cycling services, a brilliant way to explore the coastal road and nearby villages without worrying too much about the hills.
Elsewhere, you can expect:
– Reception with luggage storage
– Restaurant highchairs for little ones
– Beautiful sea-view terraces and lounging areas

Expect grilled fish, colourful salads and plenty of options for both adults and children. Highchairs are available, and the hotel usually requests no beachwear and long trousers for gentlemen at dinner.
For something more intimate, Puž à la carte restaurant sits right by the beach. It specialises in international, Italian and local cuisine for leisurely lunches and dinners – ideal for seafood, pasta and a glass of Croatian wine with the waves as your backdrop (reservations and supplements may apply, especially on Half Board).
Drinks are covered by two bars: Blue Bar, the lobby bar for coffees, cocktails and pre-dinner drinks, and the pool bar, open from morning until late, which also serves snacks during the day. Opening dates and times are seasonal and can vary, so check on arrival.
