Map & location
Stari Grad, Hvar Island, Split and Dalmatian Coast, Croatia
Set in the relaxed coastal town of Stari Grad on Hvar’s northern shore, Valamar Amicor Resort blends into pine forest and stone-lined pathways rather than dominating the landscape. You’re around 400m from a classic Croatian pebble beach with crystal-clear water, and it’s an easy wander or short bike ride into Stari Grad’s old town where terracotta-topped houses wrap around a pretty harbour.
Beyond the resort, vineyards, olive groves and lavender fields slope up into low hills, while Hvar Town’s glamorous harbourfront, beach bars and fortress views are around 22km away – close enough for a day or evening out, but far enough that Stari Grad remains quietly traditional and family-friendly.
- Approx. transfer time from airport 4 to 5 hours from Split (SPU), including road transfer and ferry/catamaran to Hvar Island. Ferry schedules and seasonal traffic can impact exact journey time.
Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Water babies are spoilt here, with a proper family pool scene just a short walk from the sea.
• Outdoor freshwater pool with slides and children’s section – the main pool anchors the aquapark zone, with built-in children’s area and gentle slides. Sunbeds and parasols line the terrace and water toys are allowed, making it super easy with younger kids. The pool is usually heated between mid-May and mid-September.
• Aquapark – the headline act for older children, with slides and splash features typically open from 1 June to mid-September, roughly 10:00–18:00. Age, height or weight restrictions can apply for some slides for safety reasons.
• Pebble beach – around 400m away you’ll find clear Adriatic water and a pebbly shore typical of Croatia. Pack water shoes and you’re rewarded with excellent swimming and snorkelling conditions just off the beach.
Pool and aquapark opening dates and hours are subject to weather, occupancy and seasonal changes.
