Sliema, Malta and Gozo, Malta
Sliema is Malta’s chic waterfront hub, wrapping around Marsamxett Harbour with promenades, pavement cafés and sleek shopping malls. Barcelo Fortina Malta sits right on the seafront, so you can wander the coast path in either direction, hop on a harbour cruise or catch the quick ferry over to Valletta’s UNESCO‑listed old town.
By night, choose between low-key cocktails on the promenade or head 4km up the coast to Paceville and St Julian’s where the nightlife cranks up a gear.

Facilities
Pool & outdoors
Sunseekers are well looked after here. You’ve got:
• An outdoor freshwater pool at the Lido Beach Club, right on the rocky shoreline, with a sunbathing deck and loungers (reservation system for sunbeds – you book a morning or afternoon slot directly with the hotel).
• Direct sea access from the club for refreshing dips in the Med.
• An indoor freshwater pool in the spa area – a calm alternative when the midday sun gets too much.
Pool towels are provided (refundable deposit), and facilities or opening times may vary seasonally. While the closest sandy spots are around 850m away, Sliema’s lidos and rocky bathing platforms give you plenty of swim stop options along the coast.
Spa, sports & wellness
Wellness and workouts come courtesy of an air-conditioned gym with cardio machines, fixed strength kit, free weights and a sauna (typically for ages 18+). The spa offers a menu of massages and beauty treatments (16+, extra charge), plus that indoor pool for post-sightseeing unwinding.
Elsewhere you’ll find a handy mini‑market on site, concierge-style reception with luggage storage, and selected equipment available to hire such as fans, kettles and wheelchairs (subject to availability and local charges). This is an urban, design-forward base – expect an emphasis on style and service rather than resort-style entertainment.

Food & drink
Wake up to harbour views and buffet breakfasts at Stella’s Restaurant, where show-cooking stations keep things fresh and varied. In the evenings, the focus is on Mediterranean and international dishes, with options for Half Board guests and an easy, dress-up-or-dress-down vibe.
The Bridge Bar serves cocktails, wines and coffees from late morning through to late evening – ideal for a pre-dinner drink or a nightcap after wandering Sliema’s promenade.
